The time table - a classic!

"Now they're here again - the books which with their rich detail and expected endings have become beloved classics..." - They're referring to the bus and tram time table for the winter season.

Seals bite

So now you know. Seals look all cute and cuddly with their big dark eyes, but they are predators. And they bite.

(This sign was at the seal enclosure at the Slottskogen park by the way. It's not a common sign around town.)

Mofeta & Jerre

There was a band playing outside the tube station at Götgatan this evening. We stopped to watch them and they were pretty good! Mofeta & Jerre - you heard it here first!

Laundry rules

"How many times does one have to point out that the laundry should be clean and in order?"

Ah - the shared laundry - a constant source of friction...

Karaoke 4 da people

It's Stockholm Culture Week now with lots of performances and activities around the city. We were meant to go to a poetry-reading/concert, but got stuck at the karaoke performance. It was as bad as it looks. But hey - we're not culture snobs!

Summer in August!

Stockholm city museum.

Open windows

When I was a kid, August meant the start of autumn. But nowadays it's still summer. I'm not complaining. It's lovely! :)

Enjoy it while it lasts

After only a short while in Sweden I already started thinking like the a Swede. That is, to always think and talk about the weather. I check the weather forecast every morning to know what to wear, weather or not to bring a jacket or umbrella etc. I talk about the weather, if it's good, what tomorrow will be like, how they had said it was gonna be a nice day and now it's raining....

And when the weather is good, you have to enjoy it. Even when you're exhausted and would rather just stay at home, you can't when the weather is like this. Because you know that you have 8 months of darkness and cold ahead so you'd better soak up as much sun as you can, when you can. That's Sweden for you!

Summer, swimming and wild raspberries

My friend R was here for the weekend and we had a lovely time! We went out to an islet in the archipelago, found a little jetty that we hung out on, enjoyed the beuatiful weather and even went for a swim!

A happy and relaxed dog.

There were a few raspberry bushes just by the little road there with fantastic little berries full of flavour and sweetness! We ate a few handfuls. Yum!

A Gay Day

The defense.

Marge and Homer was there as well!

The gay parade was on in Stockholm today. I know some would say that every day in Sweden is a gay day, but today was more gay than usual.
