Between 4 and 6

I'm very sad. My '5' key came off yesterday. :-( I was in mourning the whole evening. I feel like a part of me was injured.
Also, now I'm gonna have to write "between 4 and 6" instead. Or "almost 6"... "Definitely more than 4!"

TGIF

Dr. Katz - Ants!

"There are a lot of crazy people on the street. I'm walking down the street and I see this guy. And he's just screaming. He's running down the block and he's screaming, he's like: "Ants! Ants! They're all over me! Ants! Ants! Ants!" He gets to the curb... he looks both ways. "Ants!"

The only time you notice these guys is when they do something normal, you know. I'd love to follow this guy like on his day. "Ants! Ants!"..."One for legends of the fall" "Ants! Ants!"... "Can you supersize this?"

So then I see this other guy, this one crazy guy. He's just laughing at an empty juice container. He's just laughing at it. And he sees me looking at him so he goes: "Jealous?"
- And you know something? I was a little jealous.
What is the secret, crazy??"

Can I Stay?
Ray La Montagne

Dr. Katz - quit smoking

"You know, my father smoked a lot. And... he's been smoking for years. He tried to quit. You know, he tried everything. He tried hypnosis... and it didn't really take. And then he tried that thing... with all the needles... what do they call that? Heroin. He loves it. He loves it! We can't get it away from him now."

Skalman knarkar!

Det här hade jag helt glömt!
(If you don't know who Bamse, Skalman & lille Skutt are, there's not really any point in me explaining this. Sorry. Even if you did look him up, you wouldn't understand...)
This particular episode caused huge controversy at the time...
The whole episode can be found here.

Yay I'm good!

I know I should be doing this every day, but once a week is still a good start.

An inconvenient truth

A film well worth seeing. Go and see it now!
10 things to do from the Climate crisis website.
  • Change a light
Replacing one regular light bulb with compact fluroescent light bulb will save 150 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

  • Drive less
Walk, bike, carpool or take mass transit more often. You'll save one pound of carbon dioxide for every minute you don't drive.

  • Recycle more
You can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide per year by recycling just half of your household waste.

  • Check your tires
Keeping your tires inflated properly can improve gas mileage by more than 3%. Every gallon of gasoline saved keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere!

  • Use less hot water
It takes a lot of energy to heat water. Use less hot water by installing a low flow showerhead (350 pounds of CO2 saved per year) and washing your clothes in cold or warm water (500 pounds saved per year).

  • Avoid products with a lot of packaging
You can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide if you cut down your garbage by 10%.

  • Adjust your thermostat
Moving your thermostat just 2 degrees in winter and up 2 degrees in summer. You could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple adjustment.

  • Plant a tree
A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.

  • Turn off electronic devices
Simply turning off your television, DVD player, stereo, and computer when you're not using them will save you thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
